I think ISIL (ISIS) prefer conquest Baghdad to Kurdistan Peshmerga … It is too heavy to open two war fronts … It high stake to strike the Kurdistan. But who know if ISIL (ISIL) attack teh Kirkuk ???
Peshmerga has good war moral than Iraq army. Peshmerga will fight to death their welfare after gaining Kurdistan Region a few years before.
Peshmerga forces send reinforcements to KirkukHEWLER (DİHA) – Following the capture of Mosul by ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Sham) gangs, Federal Kurdistan Region peshmerga fighters have begun to reinforce the defences of the city of Kirkuk.Checkpoints and extra security measures have been established on the Kirkuk-Mosul-Baghdad, Kirkuk-Sulaymaniyah and Kirkuk-Hewler roads. On the Kirkuk-Sulaymaniyah road peshmergas are travelling to the Mosul front with heavy weaponry in lorries, minibuses and automobiles. Peshmergas have also been deployed in the areas of Hawija, Jalawla and Khanaqin, as well as the area between Kirkuk and Mosul. Meanwhile, security measures have been stepped up all over Kurdistan. Peshmergas we spoke to on the Kirkuk-Sulaymaniyah road said that following the capture of Mosul by ISIS thousands of peshmerga had volunteered to go to the Mosul border area.Peshmergas: We are ready!Security officials in Kirkuk say they have taken all measures in the multiethnic city and its surrounding areas to protect the province from any attacks by the ISIS. Brigadier Sarhad Qadir, chief of Kirkuk’s suburban police force, said it is unlikely for the war currently raging in Iraq’s Sunni areas to reach Kirkuk. “We had had previous intelligence that the armed groups were active around Tikrit, so we had already taken measures against anything untoward coming this way,” Qadir said. “We raided some of their bases (ISIS) days before and detained some of their members,” Qadir added. “We try to foil any plans against Kirkuk in advance.” On Thursday, Kurdish Peshmerga forces moved in and took all Kurdish areas south of Kirkuk after the complete withdrawal of Iraqi troops from the province.Report: Iran deploys military to fight ISISIranian Revolutionary Guard forces helped Iraqi troops regain control over most of Tikrit, according to Iranian security sources.
